between the Atchafalaya and Bayou Rouge Prairie; and.that resolution
number forty, approved March third, eighteen hundred and forty-five be,
and the same is hereby rescinded.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That Mary Ellen Williams,
a free woman of color be, and she is hereby permitted to reside in tLe
State of Louisiana.

For the relief of the securities of Lewis Andrews., decaaed, late SiierifT of the parish of
St. Landry.
SECTION 1. Be it eiacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Loui.;iana in General Assembly convened, That all the se.
curities of Lewis Andrews. deceased, of the parish of St. Landry be, and
they are hereby so far relieved from the judgment of the State against
then], and from their obligations and liabilities to the State, as sureties for
said Lewis Andrews, late Sheriff of said parish, for taxes of the year eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-eight, not paid over or collected by said Lewis An.
drews. That they shall not he liable in solido, but only jointly for said
judgments, and their said obligations and liabilities.
SEc. 2. Be itfusrther enacted,  *c.; That a part of said sureties, to-wit:
Jessee Andrews and the heirs of Joseph E. Andrews be, and are hereby
entirely released from said judgment, and from all obligations and liabili-
ties to the State, as sureties aforesaid: Provided, the other sureties con-
sent to said release.
