No. 187.]                   AN ACT
To establish an additional electi6n precinct in the. parish of Plaquernines.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives: of the State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That there shall be, and is,
hereby established an election precinct at the village or settlement, at the
South West Pass in the said parish of Plaquemines.

isiana, and one of the liquidating commissioners of the Bank of Orleans,
having volunteered his services as Major in the Regiment of Infantry.of
the Louisiana Legion,
Be it therefore resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the Stati of Louisiana in General Assenbly convened, That a leave of
absence be granted to him for the.time of the campaign of Texas.

To protect the rights of slave holders in the State of Louisiana.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State qf
Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That from the passage of this
act, no slave shall be entitled to his or her freedom, under the.pretence
that he or she has been, with or without the consent of his or her owner,
in a country where slavery does not exist, or in any of the States where
slavery is prohibited.
