SECT. 4. Be itfurther enacted, 4-., That it shall be the duty of the Gov- ernor of the State to issue patents to said settlers for their lands, on the payment of such purchase money. SECT. 5. Be it further enacted, 4., That if any person or persons shall swear falsely in :proving the settlement of himself or herself, or-any other person, lie, she, or they so swearing, shall be deemed guilty of wilful and corrupt perjury. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of 1te State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened ; That it shall be the du- ty oftho Keepers of the Police Jails of the three Minicipalitics of New Orleans, to advcrtise in French and English in the State paper and inl the oflicial Gazette of the Municipality in which said jail is situated, once a week, during three consecutive months, such slave or slavos, whose owners are utnknowi, or reside out of the State of Louisiana, as nlow or may here- after he detained in their respective jails and whether arrested within the parish of Orleans or brought thither from any of the jails of this State. Stct. 2. Be it further enacted, S-c., That in case the owners of said slave or slaves should not claim them at the expiration of the above threo months, it shall he the duty of the Council of the Municipality in whose jail said slave or slaves may be detained, to cause the same to be s)old, at auction for whatever they will bring for cash after thirty days advertise- ment in the above mentioned official Gazettes. SerT. 3. And be it fkrther enacted, 4-., That all laws contrary to or difTerent from the provisions of this act be and the same are hereby repeal- od; provided that no slave can be sold unless he has been twelve months held in imprisonment. Re it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State <f Louisiana, in General Assembly convened; Thot so much of the parish of Cuddo, as lies south and west ofthe Bayou Pierre River and Cypress Bayou, be annexed to, and forti patt of the parish rerritory on* of De Soto according to the following named houndary line, So, to that is to say ; the line dividing the two parishes shall booin in the Bayou Pierre River, where the boundary line of the two parishes now crosses it, thence it shall run tip the said river to the mouth of Wallace Lake, thence up said Lake to the mouth of Cypress Bayou, thence op said Bayou to the motih of Kechi Bavon, aid thene ip sa i Bayot to the boundary linit as now cstabli!;hcd.
