No. 118.-AN ACT for the Relief of H. J. Rauney, a citizen, of,New Orleans.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Siate
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the Treasurer of the
State be, and he is hereby authorized and instructed to pay to H. J.
Rauney,' upon his own warrant, out of any money in the Treasury not
otherwise appropriated, the sum of four hundred and isixty-one dollars,
twenty-five cents, being in full for his services, for collecting a number
of slaves, the property of the New Orleans and Nashville Railroad Com-
pany, at the instance of the Sheriff and the Attorney Gtiberal, and' for
keeping and maintaining the said negroes until the day'of sale, under
the direction of the Sheriff.

No. 114.-AN ACT to amend an Act entitled, An Act to Retrench the Expensel' of the State
of Louisiana, and to Reduce the Salaries and: Emoluments of Certain, Offloers, approved
March twentysixth, eighteen hundred and forty-two.
Be it enacted by the Senate and Iloitse of Representatives of the State of
Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That 'the' fith section of the
aforesaid ac-t, be hereby, and,the same is so amended, that insiend of the
Parish Judge, the President of the Police Jury of the Parish of St. Mar-
tin, shall hereafter be the President of the Board of Administrators of
the Common Schools of the said Parish.
