of any kind : Provided, that such by-laws .and regulations shall not be
inconsistent with the rule and discipline which from time to time shall
be agreed upon and 'adopted by the .greachers and ministers of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, at their General Conference in the United
States of America; And provided, that such by-laws and regulations
shall not be inconsistent with the constitution and laws of the United
States or of the State of Louisiana.
SEc. 4. And be it further enacted, 4p. That this charter shall continue
for and during the space of twenty years.

No. 112.-AN ACT to exempt the Organ of St.Patrick's Church fronseizure for the debts of the
corporation of said Church.
Whereas certain of the ladies belonging to the congregation of St.
Patrick's Church in the city of New Orleans have held certain Fairs for
the purpose of procuring a suitable organ to aid in the sacred services of
said Church; and, whereas the ladies aforesaid having succeeded in
raising funds for that purpose, the said organ at their instance having
been built by Mr. Henry Erben, of New York, and now on shipboard
and arrived at the Levee in New Orleans; and whereas said Organ, al-
though purchased by benevolent individuals, and not at the order or in-
stance of the corporation of the said Church, will, if presented and de-
livered to the said Church, be in danger of seizure by reason of legal
claims against said corporation:,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represestatives of the State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That the said Organ be and
it is hereby forever exempted from all attachment or seizure or sale by
execution or otherwise, to satisfy any claim or claims which may now or
hereafter exist against the said corporation: Provided, however, that no-
thing in this Act shall interfere with or impede the payment of any claim
or claims which the builder of said Organ may have against the individ-
uals orderi- the construction of said instrument for any amount still
unpaid for    same.

N 113.--AN ACT to prevent Trespasses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That from and after
the passage of this Act, no person shall cut, pull down, burn, destroy or
carry away any tree, wood or timber, growing or lying on the land of
another, or cause the same to be done by his orders or directions, with-
Penalty for out the consent of the owner or legal possessor thereof; and that who-
trespass.  ever shall knowingly and in bad faith violate the provisions of this Act,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on due conviction thereof before
the District Court of the Parish in whi-h said offence shall be commit-
ted, or if in the First District, before the Criminal Court of the First
