the Mississippi river, and by substituting, in the title of said Act, as
well as in the second and third 5ections, the word three, in lieu of the
word  two, wherever said last mentioned word has reference to the
precincts theroin established.
SEC. 4. Be it frtier enacted, '4. That there shall be established anl
additional precinct of election in the Parish of Rapides, at the School-
Additional pre- house of Michael Neal, situate in that part of said Parish known by the
cjalct establish- name of the settlement of Annacoco, and such elections shall be held and
conducted in the same manner as they are now conducted at other pre-
cincts in said Parish.
Vcn in force.  SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, c. That this Act shall be in force
from and after its passage.

No. 51-AN ACT fixing the Return Day of Appeals to the Supreme Court. from the Parishes of
Washington, St. Tammany, Livingston, and St. Helena.
Be it enacted by tbe Senate and lRouse of Reprcsentatives of the State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That hereafter the second
d0y of Monday of February in each and every year, in lieu of the third Mon-
day of January, shall be taken as the legal day to which all cases of ap.
peal to the Supreme Court, from the Parishes of Washington, St. Tam-
many, Livingston, and St. Helena, shall be returned and made return-
able.

Be it enacted by the Senate and Hose of Representatives of te State of
Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That the Treasurer of the State
be and he is hereby authorised to pay to James Walsh, on his own war-
neher graned. rant, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the
sum of  three hundred dollars, as the price of the negro man Peter,
belonging to said James Walsh, which slave was convicted and executed
in the Parish of Pointe Coupde, on the fifteenth day of April, eighteen
hundred and forty-two, for the crime of murder.
