No. 150.-AN ACT amendatory of the act entitled An act to incorpo- rate a board of public works, and to create a fund for internal improvement, approved March fourth, eighteen hundred and thirty- three. SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the Senate and .Touse of Representatives of the State of Louisiana, in gene- ral assembly convened, That so much of the act entitled nepeal. An act to incorporate a board of public works, and to create a fund for internal improvement, approved March fourth, eighteen hundred and thirty-three, as relates to the appointment and duties of the president and directors of a board of public works be, and the same are hereby repealed. SEc. 2. Be it further enacted, &c., That in future Eugineer. the superintendence and direction of the public works shall be entrusted to an engineer skilled in the theory and practice of his profession, who shall be appointed annually by the governor, by and with the advice and Compensation consent of the Senate; and that his compensation shall be fixed at three thousand five hundred dollars per annum, payable quarterly, on his warrant, by the trea- surer of the state. SEc. 3.
