AN ACT
Amending the 'acts now in force, relative to the introduction of Slaves.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives of the State of Louisiana, in General As-
sembly convened, That from and after the passage of this
proibition $os act, that portion of the second section of the act to amend
to Kentukv, the act entitled An act relative to the introduction of slaves,
Tennessee and
Missouri.  which includes the states of Kentucky, Tennessee and
Missouri, as amongst those states and territories from whom
slaves should not be introduced, be, and the same is hereby
repealed.
Agent to be  SECT. 2. Be it frther enacted, 4-c. That so much of the
a voter and first section of the said act, entitled An act relative to the
land owner in
the district.  introduction of slaves, which requires that the agent em-
ployed be a freeholder of the parish in which the slaves
are to be introduced, be, and is hereby so amended, as to
make it only necessary hereafter, that the said agent be a
qualified voter and land owner, residing in the judicial dis-
trict in which the slaves are to be introduced. Provided,
that all other restrictions and qualifications, now required
by the existing laws from agents, shall remain the same.
Donation of  SECT. 3. And be it further enacted, 4-c. That fi-om
slaves by as- the passage of this act, it will be lawful tor fathers or
cendants in fa-
vor of descen- mothers of families or other ascendants, who, under the
dants.     provision of this act, or in virtue of any othtr acts ruspecting
the introduction of slaves in this State, shoild have purchased
some slaves in conformity to the said former laws, that the
said fathers or mothers of families, shall have the rigit to
give or otherwise dispose any of those said slaves so par-
chased or introduced, to and in favor of their children, grand-
children, sons-in-law, or step-daughters, as a part of their
inheritance, or any other ways; provided, thit th se sold
children, grand-children, sons-in-law, or step-daughters, shall
