Be it enacted by the Senate and Houe of Reprcsen- tatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the subscription to the capital of the Barataria and La- Power of the fourche Canal Company may be closed by the board of directors ,Tirectors. when they shall deem the same expedient, and that the said sub- scription may be re-opened on such conditions as the board of directors shall determine, and for and during such periods us they shall judge necessary or useful. Rates oftoll. SECT. 2. Be it further enacted, That the company shall re- ceive from boats navigating the Attakapas Canal, the same rates of toll as are allowed for the Barataria Canal. AN ACT to amend the act entitled an act to amend the Black Code,' approved March 16th, 1830. Be it enacted by the Sente and Housc of Repres en- tatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, The sixth section of the act to which this is an amendment, shall apply to the city of New-Orleans in this sense only, that the amount of the bond for one thousand dollars, to be given to the mayor by every person wishing to obtain a license to keep a cabaret or grogshop, by virtue of the third section of the ordi- nance of the city council, approved the 28th December, 1825, shall be forfeited in the manner provided by the said sixth sec- tion of the said act, for every violation of any of the provisions of the act to which this is an amendment, and for violations of the ordinances of the said city council, relative to grogshops or caba- rets, taverns, coffee houses, billiard rooms and public boarding houses.
