Be it enacted by the senate and house of representatires of the state of Louisiana in general assembly convened, That George P. Briant a minor of the age of twenty-one years and four months, and an inhabitant of the parish of St. Martin, be and he is hereby dispensed with the time prescribed by law for attaining the age of majority. AN ACT to amend na.act to distribute the genuine vaccine matter for the use of the cit- izeas of this state, approved March 10th, 112c. Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the senate and house ofrepre-sentatives of the state of Louisiana, in general assembly convened, That the sum of five hundred dollars be, and is hereby allowed annually, instead of (hat heretofore paid to the agent for distributing the vaccine mat'er, in full compensation for his services. Be it enacted by the senate and house of representatives of the state Sumallowed of Louisiana, in general assembly convened; That it shall be lawful for Firmin Firmin Blanchard, now sheriff of the parish of Assumption, to receive from the state Blanchard. treasurer, the sum of ohe hundred and ninety-two dollars and sixty-seven cents, being the commission granted him in his capacity of collector of the state taxes for said parish. Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, &c. That the state treasurer be, and he is Sum allowcdhereby authorised and requested, to pay to the order of James Talbert, guar- James Tal-dian of the jail of deposit of runaway slaves, of the parish of Ascension, the bert. sum of one hundred and sixty-eight dollars and fifty cents, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated: which sum is the amount of the costs arising'from keeping in jail the runaway slave named Billy Pearce, who died while detained in said depot.
