And be it further enacted, That it shall be the Judges oferi-duty of the Judges of criminal jurisdiction in this State, to give alnrithis act in charge to the Grand Jury at each term of their .respective courts. Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 1eodernor State of Louisiana m General Assembly convened, That the transmit cop- Governor of this State be, and he is hereby requested to i.. of the act transmit, without delay, to the Governors of the states of welattve to' theaac introduction of Mississippi and Alabama, copies of the act entitled an act slavesintothis relative to the introduction of slaves into this State, and for state. other purposes, as soon as it may be approved by him. and to correspond with them, and solicit them to lay before the -Legislatures of those. states, at their present session, the sub- ject matter of the said act, and to recommend similar legisla- tive enactments on their part. To have the Resolved, further, That the Governor of this State be, and .iamepUblished he is hereby requested to cause .o be published in one of the ierent official Gazettes of the states of Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky. Tennessee, and Illissouri, the act referred-to in the foregoing resolution, and that he be authorised to defray the expenses of such publications out of the contingent fund provided for the current expenses of the present year.
