Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre. Police Juiy author. sent (1tives of the State of Louisiana. in General , .s enill .Ted toopen a canal. con venfd, That the police jury, of the parish of Terrcbonie be and they are hereby anthorized to open a canal. and to erect the necessary locks thereon from th,-Bayou Lafourche to the Bayou Terrebonne in the parish of Lafourche interior, at any point they may deem most convenient; Proided howev- er, that the said police jury shall pay to the owner 6r owin- ers of thc land through which the said canal shall be opene I the full value thereof, together with all damages said owner may incur by the opening of said canal. Sec 2 Ad be st further enacted, That Andrew Collir. Jean Pierre Bergeron, and Guillaume Beauvais,,of the parish of Lafourche interior, H. B. Triste and John: cely of the pai - ish of Assumption, be and they are hereby appointed commis- sioners in addition to those appointed by an act entitled ar act for the reliet of the inhabitants of the parish uf Lafourche interior, and said commissioners, together with those appoint- ed by said act, are hereby authorized to receive the monies appropriated for the purposes provided in said act from the state treasury, on the warrant of any five of said commission- ers accompanied with the certificate of the parish Judges of Lafourche interior and Asssumption, that the monies thus drawn for, have been employed agreeably to the provisions of the said act.
