salvage as shall be determined by the master and
wardens of said port; and in case such anchor or
cable should not be claimed within the said space
of three months, the same shall become the proper-
ty of the person or persons by whom they may have
been taken up. And any person neglkting or re-
fusing to comply with the provisions of this section,
shall forfeit and pay for every such offence, a sum
of fifty dollars.
Branch pilots Sec. 8. And be it farther enacted, That no branch
nottoabsent pilot shall be allowed to leave his station for more
themselves. P
than three consecutive days, unless he shall have
obtained a written permission so to do, from the
master and wardens of the port, under a penalty of
fifty dollars; provided that permission shall, in no
case, be granted to more than two branch pilots to
leave their station, at one and the same time.
Fines, &a. Sec. 9. And be it further enacted, That all fines,
d. recoverforfeitures or penalties provided for or decreed by
this act, shall be sued for and recovered in the name
of the master and wardens of the port, before any
court of competent jurisdiction and for the use and
benefit of the Charity Hospital of New Orleans.
