AN ACT to authorize the administrators of the charity hospital to sell cer-
tain property.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen-

trac ofland.  That the administrators of the charity hospital be and they are here-
by authorized to sell a tract of land they have purchased of J.
Barron, below the city of New-Orleans.
SEcT. 2. And be it further enacted, That the administrators of
Otnegroilavc the charity hospital are hereby authorized to sell the negro named
Lubin, if ilhey deem it expedient.
SECT. 3. nd be it fuither enacted, That the funds proceeding
irroceeds,how from the sale of the land mentioned in the first section of this act
em~ptoyed. shall be laid out in such a manner as the administrators of said char-
ity hospital shall think most proper.

AN ACT to authorize a Lottery.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
imroveme oi spetatives of the State of Lcuisiana, in General Assembly convened,
bayou Lafour- That the inhabitants o the arish of Ascension, Assumption and
Lafourche Interior, be and thle are hereby autlhorized to raise, by
means of a lottery, a sum of eight thousand dollars, to be applied
to the inuprovenient of bayou Lafourche.
SECT. 2. Ana be it further enacted, That David A. Randall, Car-
Commissioners lier d'Outremner and Narcisse Landry of the parish of Ascension
dppointed.  St. Julien de Tournillon and Andtd Le Blanc of the parish of As-
sumption, and Joseph Nicholas of the Interior parish of Lafourche,
or a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorized to pre-
pare the plan of said lottery and to sell and dispose of tickets: pro-
vided, however, that the said Randall, Carlier d'Outrenier, Narcis-
se Landry, Tournillon and Joseph Nicholas, or a majority of thei,
before selling and disposing of an y tickets of said lottery, shall
each give bond in the hands of their parish judge, in the sum of eight
thousand dollars, payable to the state, with good and sufficient se-
curity, conditioned that they shall, from the proceeds of said lotte-
ry, and within two mouths after the drawing thereof, pay the prizes
wvon and all the necessary costs occasioned by said lottery, and
shall employ the said sum of eight thousand dollars arising there-
from agireeably to this act, fr the improvement of the navigvation
ofbayou Lafiourche, and shall comply in every respect with t~le re-
quisitions of this act.
SECT. S. -ndb le it farther enacted, That whenever the said mall-
deo   .to be agers shall, by selling the tickets aforesaid, have raised a sum of
one thousand dollars, they shall deposit the same within the short-
est possible delay in the Louisiana State Branch Bank at Donald-
sonville, there to remain until drawn, in pursuance of the provisions
of the second section of this act, or to reimburse the proprietors of
