AN ACT to amend the several Acts relative to Patrols.
Considering the inconveniences resulting from the powers grant-
ed to the Militia and Police juries to establish Patriots for the
Police of Slaves,
nce jurie  SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives

lishing Patrols for the Police of Slaves in their -espective Parishes,
and of making the necessary regulations on that subject.
Patrosautho.  SEC. 2. .qnd be it further enacted, That the Patrols ordered by

Peonityaainst  SEC. S. And be it further enacted, That any inhabitant, his
t       ose who shall overseer or his representative who shall prevent, or forcibly oppose

gro haue. shall, on conviction thereof, be condemned to a fine not exceeding
one hundred dollars, nor be less than twenty dollars, to be recover-
ed, on information before any Court of competent jurisdiction, for
the use of the Parish.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all laws contrary to the
present act, be and they are hereby repealed.

AN ACT to authorise the President of the Senate and Speaker of the
House'of Representatives to draw certain sums of money, therein men.
tioned.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the Pre-
sident of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representa-
tives shall be and they are hereby authorised respectively to draw
on the Treasury any sum not exceeding three hundred dollars, to
defray the contingent expences of their respective houses.

AN ACT according the rights-of majority to minors therein mentioned,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
State Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That Mathew
Bowles, Aphia Jones, and Mathew Jones (alias Mathew. Colli-
man) all Minors of the Parish of Rapides, be and they are hereby
authorised, from this day forward, to administer their estates by
themselves and to do all and singular the civil acts which are or
may be done by the persons who have attained the age of majority
prescribed by law.
