SEc. 7. And be itffurther enacted, That if any inspector shall be guiity
of neglect or fraud, or do any thing contrary to the true intent and mean-
ing of this act, he or they shall beliable to a fine of fifty dollars, to be re-
covered before any court of competent authority, one half to the use of
the State, and the other half to the use and benefit of the informer,, and
moreover shall be liable for damiages to any person aggrieved.
Suc. 8. And be it further enacted, That if any person shall intermix,
take out, or shift any beef or pork packed and branded as directed by this
act, or put in any other beef or pork for sale or exportation, or alter,
change, or deface any brand or mark of any inspector, contrary to the
true intent and meaning of this act, said person shall, for every offence,
pay a fine of forty dollars, one half for the use of the State, and the other
half for the use of the informer, and moreover shall be liable for damages
to any person aggrieved.
SEc. 9. And be it further enacted, That no person shall export or ship,
or attempt to export or ship, any beef or pork, without having caused the
same to be inspected and branded within the thirty days preceding such
exportation or shipment, agreeably to the true spirit of this act, and with-
out procuring from at least one of the inspectors a certificate, that said
beef or pork has been inspected and branded according to law.
Sta. 10. And be it further enacted, That any captain who shall re.
ceive on board of his vessel, or any person who shall ship beef or pork for
exportation, contrary to the provisions of this act, shall pay a fine of fifteen
dollars for each barrel thus exported or shipped.
SEc. 11. And'beitfurther enacted,, Thatno inspector and re-packer of
beef or pork shall buy or sell more than what shall be necessary for his
own consumption.
SEc. 12. And be it further enacted, That no beef or pork that shall
have been inspected and re-packed, shall, be taken from the stores and
yards of the-inspectors, unless all the expensesbe previously paid, and no
owner or seller of beef and pork shall sufler the same, after inspection,
to remain more than twelve hours exposed to the sun, or to bad weather.
Suc. 13. And be it further enacted, That the inspectors and re-packerF
to be appointedby virtue of this act, shall, before they enter oi the duties of
their office, take oath as prescribed by law, and that every inspector shall
be entitled to demand and receive, lor every barrel of pork or beef he shall
inspect, re-pack, and salt, thirty-three cents and one third, besides the
price of the salt, saltpetre, and other extra services.
SEc. 14. And be it further enacted, That this act shall be in force from
and after the passage, except so much as relates to the size and dimen-
sions of the barrels, which part shall not bein force until January, eighteei
hundred and twenty-one.
