AN ACT
To authorize the treasurer of the state to receive 'public se-
,urze8 in payment of taxes, and for other purposes.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the senate and house of refprc.
sentatives of the state of Louisiana, in general csssmbly
convened, That the treasurer of this state shall be and he is
hereby authorized to receive in discharge of any taxes or
monies due to the treasury any and all legal warrants for
monies dae to any person from the treasury; provided how-
ever the said warrants or dratts be endorsed by the person
or persons in whose name they were originally drawn.
ScT. 2. And be it further enacted, That the treasurer
of the state shall be allowed annually the sum of one hundred
dollars f6r postage on communication with the officers of the
state, and all communications from the treasurer to any of-
ficer'of the state relative to business of the treasury dcpart-
ment the postage shall be paid by the sai treasurer.
SECT. 3. .4ud be it Jurther enacted, That the treasurer
shall annually render to the joint committee appointed to ex-
amine his accounts a detailed account of all postages by hin
paid.

in the state qf Louisiana, to determine the mode of aiaess-
ing and collecting said tax, and for other purposes.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the senate and house of re/ire-
sentatives of the state of Louisfana in general ass emibly con-
vened, That the fisst section of the act to which this is a
supplement is hereby made annual and declared to be in
force within the state.
SECT. 2. .nd be it further enacted, That the tax of
fifty dollars imposed on auctioneers under the third section
of the act to which this is a supplement shall only be appli-
cable to such auctioneers as are nominated and appoiated
for the city of New-Orleans, and that in case any parish judge
or other person within this state should have paid the tax
aforesaid, it is hereby made the duty of the treasurer of the
state to reimbui se to the said paish judge or pqrsons ex-
mnipt as aforqsaid the amount of said tax, and -with respect
to the auctioneer sp ecially appointed within the city of New-
