For each head of neat cattle, three cents and one eighth,
Foreach head of sheep and hogs, two cents.
Any thing in the second section of the act to which this is
amendatory to the contrary notwithstanding.
SECT. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said per-
son or persons buildiig the bridge aforesaid shall have the
exclusive right to demand and receive the aforesaid toll for
of the the term of twenty years, provided the said builder or build-
ers keep the said bridge in repair during said term, any
thing in the fifth section of the act to which this is amenda-
tory to the contrary notwithstanding, at the expiration of
which term the said bridge shall be delivered in good repair
to the parish or parishets ii which the bidcge may be.
SECT. 3. And be it further enacted. That so much of the
period seventh section of the act to which tois is an amendment, as
cride limits the time from the passage of that act, to the comple-
tion of said bridge to eighteen months, be and the same is
hereby repealed, and that the term of eighteen months from
the passage of thisact be allowed to complete the s mint ; and

AN ACT
Supplenentary to the at entitled, ' an act to repeal all laws
or provisions of laws prescribing the manner of remune-
rating the owners of slaves sentenced to death or killed
'whilst runaway.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the acnate and house qf repre.
pentatives of the state of Louisiana, in general aassmbly
convened, That in addition to the provisions contained in
the first section of the act to which this is a supplement, all
slaves which are executed in consequence of exciting a re-
volt or insurrection, or of being in any way concerned there-
in, shall be at the loss of the owner only.
SECT. 2. And be it further enacted, That any slave who
shall wilfully and maliciously strike his or her master or
mistress, or his or her master or mistress child or children,
or any white overseer appointed by his or her owner, to su-
perintend said owner's slaves, so as to cause a contusion or
shedding of blood, shall be punished with deatdj.
