CHAPTER 770.                         1865.
AN ACT for the bouefit of Bnu. C. Ati, 1Lo Clerk or -tho Mercer Circuit
Court.
Be it enacted . the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kfentucky:
§ 1. That Ben. C. Allin, late cleric of the Mercer circuit
court, be allowed the further time of two years to list and
collect his fee bills, under the same penalties and benefit
that attached to him while he was circuit clerk.
§ 2, This act to take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 777.
AN ACT providing for the Levy and Collection of a Tax to pay the Kenton
County Biounty Fund.
WJ1E1aAs, Divers of the citizens of' Kenton county, for the
purpose of raising the quota of troops required from said
county, under the call for 500,000 men made by the President
of the United States on thl 18th (day of July, 1864, did sub-
scribe and pay the sum of $73,6Y06 95 into a bounty fund,
which money was expended in bounties to volunteers en-
'tering the military service of the United States from said
county, under the call aforesaid; and whereas, a portion
of said volunteers received, in lieu of money, certificates
of' indebtedness for one half' of their bounties  which cer-
tificates amount to the sum of $38,800; and whereas, said
sums were so subscribed and paid, and said certificates so
received, with the full and general understanding among
the citizens of said county that a tax should be levied in
said county for the purpose of refunding said money and
paying said certificates; therefore,
Be it enacted by the General AssemblI of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:                     yfh
§ 1. That the county court of said county shall, at its County Conrt
first term after the return and correction of the assess. ma lev ta.
or's book in each of the years 185, 1866, and 1867, levy
a tax of fifty cents on each one hundred dollars i4 value of
all estate of every descriptio' subject to taxation under
the general revenue laws of this Commonwealth, as the
same shall be returned upon said assessor's books in each
of those years, which tax is to be charged to and collected
from the owners of said property, as their names appear
on said assessor's books; and the said court shall assess a
further tax of three dollars on each tithe, as returned on
said assessor's books, in each of said years.
§ 2. That as soon as the sheriff shall receive a copy of Tax to be paid
the tax-book in each of those years, he shall give notice  aheriff's of-
