RESOLUTIONS.

1865.      Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
That tho Governor of this Commonwealth be authorized to
pay, or cause to be paid, out of the military fulld, to oach sol.
dier and officer of said regiments, whatever may be found due
them for said service, upon a correct adjustment of their ac.
counts, tile pay of said allowances of soldiers and officers of
the army of the United States to be the basis of said settle-
mont.

RESOLUTION requesting the President to withdraw Negro Troops from the
Str.te of Kentucky.
WIVIIRFAs, Negro soldiers that have been recruited in the
State of Kentucky have been quartered in diflfrent parts of
the State, much to the detriment of tie citizens thercol said
troops committing many outrages upon tile lives and pr'operty
of citizens; and 'hereas, Kentucky is one of the loyal States
of tile Union, and therefore entitled to all the privileges and
immunities of other loyal States; and there exists no neces-
sity for tile presence of said troops within the State; in fact,
their presence is a source of great irritation to thcir former
owners and the citizens generally; therefore,
JRtsoked, That the Governor be requested to respectfully
requcst and earnestly urge the immediate removal of aill
negro troops from the State by tile President of tile United
States; and that, for the necessary protection of the peoplo, a
sufficient number of white soldiers may be assigned fbr duty
to this Commonwealth.
