RESOLUTION authorizing the Adjutant General to procure an official seal.  -
Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth oj
Kentucky:
That the Adjutant General be, and is hereby, empowered
to procure and keep in his ollice an official seal, to evidence
the authority of papers and documcnts issuing therefrom.

RESOLUTIONS touching the Murder of Abraham Lincoln, President of the
United States.
In the murder of Abraham     Lincoln, President of the
United States, a great crime has ben committed, whereby a
great national calamity has occurred.
Tlhe nation justly abhors the crino and deeply deplores tile
calamity.
It is proper that all the people should condemn without re-
serve this tragic and terrible oecuri',ce; wherefore,
The people of the State of Kentucky, through their Repro-
sentatives in General Assembly here convened, declare in the
most solemn nuannor their thorough condemnation of this
atrocious and most wicked nurder, and their sincere sorrow
for that event which spreads gloom over the people of all the
States, and amounts in the fillest sense to a national calamity.
.Mr. Lincoln was called to and occupied the presidential
chair at and during it time of great national dilliculty, embatr-
rassient, and danger.
In the administration of public affairs ho exhibited high
qualities of honesty, clemency, J)atriotism, and ability.
The judgment of mankind will accord to him an eminent
place amongst tile patriots and statesmen of the nation and
the world.

RESOLUTION relating to slaves in the United States service from the State
of Kentucky.
Watntl:As, By an act of Congress, approved February 241th,
186 t, it is made the duty of, the ecretary of' Wiar to appoint a
commission in each of tile States represented in Congress,
charged to award to each loyal person to whom a colored vol-
unteer may owe service a just coulpensation, not exceeding
three hiundred dollars; and whereas, there are many thou-
sands of' such volunteers in tile United States service from
this State, and no commission has been appointed fbr the
State of Kentucky, in complianeo with said act; therefore,
