No. 27.                             1866.
RESOLUTION in regard to the meeting of the General Assembly.
Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
That when this General Assembly adjourns on Saturday, the
17th inst., it will adjourn to meet at 9 o'clock, A.-M., on the
19th inst.

RESOLUTIONS in relation to military expenditures.
Resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
That the Governor of the Commonwealth be requested to
communicate to the General Assembly, on the first day of' its
ensuing adjourned sessibn :
1. The total amount of money received by the military an-
thorities of the State during the war, the dates when received,
the sources whence received,and also the total amount expended
in each six months of the years 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864, 1865,
for military purposes, separating the said expenditures under
the proper heads; and also the amount of debt now outstand-
ing against the State on account of such military purposes, so
far as said debts are recognized and admitted, and the par-
ticular forms of' such indebtedness.
2. The amount expended in the erection of the new build-
ings for the use of the military officers of this Commonwealth,
from what fund said expenditures were made, and under
authority of what law.
3. The circumstances attending the execution of a contract
for five thousand guns (Scott and Triplett's carbine), by whom
and for what purpose said contract was made, the date of its
execution, whether said contract was completed by the deliv-
ery of the guns within the time stipulated, how many of said
guns were broken when delivered, how many of said guns are
fit fbr service, and how many poor, of faulty or defective con-
struction, are impaired in value below the contract price.

1. That the people of Kentucky, regarding the writ of habeas
corpus as their constitutional right, they respectfully ask the
President of the United States to revoke his order suspend-
