1866.                         CHAPTER 831.
AN ACT in relation to the June term of the Franklin circuit court.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
§ 1. That so much of the laws now in force creating and

CHAPTER 840.
AN ACT for the benefit of the jailer of Jefferson county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
§ 1. That hereafter the jailer of Jefferson county shall be

two additional allowed by law, and that the compensation of each guard

§ 2. This act to take effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 881.
AN ACT to regulate coffee-houses in this Commonwealth.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
§ 1. That before any coffee-house keeper in this Common-
wealth shall hereafter presume to sell any spirituous or vinous
liquors to any person whatever, he shall execute bond, with
good and sufficient surety or sureties, in the penalty of five
hundred dollars, conditioned that he will keep an orderly
1house, will not sell or give any spirituous or vinous liquors to
:any person who is at the time acting in a disorderly way, or
who is intoxicated; and that he will not sell such liquors to
any minor or free negro in violation of the laws of this Com-
monmealth ; and shall also make oath that he will not violate
the,provisions of this act.
§ 2. That said bond shall be executed and said oath taken
betbre the county court of the county in which such coffee-
house is kept; said court shall approve the securities in such
bond, but before doing so shall be satisfied,. by evidence pro-
duced before it, that such coffee-house keeper is a man of good
c character.
