vantages of said high school, agreeably to the terms and
conditions of said scholarships, as they would be entitled
to do it' the college were regularly opened: Provided, fur-
ther, That the time for which such hode,.s of scholarships
shall avail themselves of the privilege to use the said
scholarships in connection with the said high school, shall
be considered a part of the time for which, by the terms of
the scholarships, they were to be entitled to tuition in the-
college or university when opened.

CHAPTER 83.
AN ACT authorizing the closing of Public Offices on certain days.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
That hereafter all public offices of this Commonwealth
may be closed on the following national holidays, to-wit:
The 22d day of February, the 4th day of' July, all thanks-
giving or f'ast days appointed by the President of the Uni-
ted States or the Governor of this State, and on the 25th
day of December, of each year.
Approved January 14, 1864.

reference to the issual and execution of process on a
holiday.
CHAPTER 96.
AN ACT to amend an act, entitled, An act to amend the law in rela.
tion to Runaway Slaves, approved December 19, 1861.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
§ 1. Th.t when a slave is arrested in any county in this

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.
