they are subject to like penalties.
§ 0. The bond provided for in the above section shall be
taken and preserved by the trustees of said town.
§ 7. The election herein provided for shall be hold by
the officers now authorized by law to hold the election for
the offices of sheriff and county judge of said county, and
certificates by them given.

CHAPTER 315.
AN ACT to amend the charter of Edmonton.
Be it enactcd bj (he General Asscnbly of thw Commonwealth
of Kentucky :
§ 1. That all that portion of Metcalfe county, embraced
Corporats within the limits of the town of Edmonton, shall be, and
pUtspoor-. is hereby, declared to be the town of Edmonton, and as
such, by that name shall be capable in law of contracting
and being contracted with, of suing and being sued, of
answering and being answered, by and through its chair-
man and board of trustees, in all matters whatever, and in
all courts and places.
§ 2. That the fiscal, prudential, and municipal concerns
.Ni,,ngoneat of of said town, with the government thereof', shall be vested
bown veted  in one principal officer, to be styled the chairman of the
toes,     board of trustees; and four trustees, who hall be elected
on the 1st Saturday in May, in each year, in the manner
hereinafter prescribed, and shall hold their offices until
their successors arc duly elected and qualified. The trus-
tees aforesaid shall be of the full age of twenty-one years,
and residents of said town For one year next before their
election.
§ 3. That on the first Saturday in may next, there shall
Ofeers-when be all election held in said town by two judges, appointed
Plected.   by the board from their number, and a clerk, for a chair-
man and four trustees; and on the 1st Monday in August
next, a police judge und marshal for said town .shll be
elected-the police judge to hold his office for Four years,
and the marshal for two years, and until their successors
arc elected and qualified; all free white male persons over
the age of twenty-one years, who shall be bana Jide resi-
dents of said town for six months before the election, shall
be entitled to vote at said election; if a vacancy should
occur in any of the aforesaid offices, it may be filled by the
board of trustees, a majority concurring therein ; and until
the August election, said board may appoint a police
judge and marshal.
