1860.                        CHAPTER 1040.
AN ACT to prevent the making of breakers on turnpike roads in Jessamine
and Boyle counties.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
§ 1. That it shall not be lawful for the stockholders on the
turnpike roads in the counties of Jessamine and Boyle, or
any person whatever, to make breakers on their roads in
said counties.
§ 2. Any person so making said breakers, by throwing
rock or any other substance across said turnpike roads,
shall -be subject to a fine of fifty dollars, to be imposed
* by the circuit court of the county in which the offense is
committed, upon the indictment of a grand jury.
§ 3. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 1041.
AN ACT for the benefit of John M. Dickenson, late clerk of Knox county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
§ 1. That the further time of two years, from and after
the passage of this act, be, and is hereby, given John M.
Dickenson, late county court clerk of Knox county, to list
and collect his unpaid fees as clerk, liable to all the penal-
ties, restrictions, and responsibilities to which clerks are
now by law liable for the issue and collection of illegal
fees.
§ 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.

CHAPTER 1042.
AN ACT to change the mode of working roads in McLean county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
§ 1. That the .county court of McLean county, a major-
ity of the justices of the peace of said county being pres-
ent and concurring, shall elect a superintendent of public
roads in said county, whose duty it shall be to let the work-
ing of the several public roads in said county, or such parts
of them as may be deemed advisable, with specifications
of the work to be performed, and take bond and security
for the faithful performance of the same. The county
