1860.                       CHAPTER 722.
AN ACT supplemental to an act, entitled An act to incorporate the towo of
Cloverport and Lower Cloverport into the town of Cloverport, approved Feb-
ruary 11th, 1860.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
§ 1. That the qualified voters of said town shall, on the
first Monday in August next, elect a police judge, and
again on the first Monday in August, 1862, and every
fourth year thereafter, in the same way that county judges.
are now elected by law. They shall, at the same timer
elect a town marshal, and again every second year there-
after, in the same manner that sheriffs are now elected by
law. The powers and duties of the police judge and town
marshal shall be as defined in the charter to which this is.
an amendment; all that part of said act coming within
the purview of this act is hereby repealed.
§ 2. This act to take effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 723.
AN ACT for the benefit of F. Wright, executor of Richard Rain.
WHEREAS, It appearing that Francis Wright, as executor
of Richard Bain, a free man of color, in executing the wilt
of said Bain, has paid the legacips bequeathed thereby to
the wife -and children of said Richard Bain, who are slaves,
and by the laws of this Commonwealth the bequest being
void, in order to protect the said Wright against any dam-
ages in consequence of carrying out said will,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky :
§ 1. That it may be lawful for the county judge of Shelby
county to settle the accounts of said Francis ,Wright, as.
executor of said Richard Bain, and is authorized to receive
as vouchers the receipts of the masters of the slaves to
whom legacies or devises have been made in the will of'
Richard Bain, which shall exonerate the said Wright from
all liability, to the extent of payments made and account-
ed for, in executing said will.
§ 2. This act to take effect from its passage.
