1860.    necessary, by an assessment of road tax previously by any
Sheriff to set- precinct or precincts in said county, bring said sheriff to a
tie with county full and final settlement of all road funds, claims, and sums
court.     which have come into said sheriff's hands for that year;
and said court may order and direct and cause said sheriff
to pay over to the county treasurer, or any part thereof
which shall be in said sheriff's hands at the time of said
settlement; and if the sheriff shall fail or refuse to pay
over said road funds, or any part thereof, as by this act
directed, he, the said sheriff, and his securities aforesaid,
shall be subject to suit, or motion for the same, in any court
having jurisdiction for the amount claimed.
§ 28. That the sheriff of Oldham county, at the August
Lawnotto go election of 1860, shall cause two columns to be opened on
into effect until
adoptedbyvote the poll books, properly headed, one for  Road law, and
of county,  the other  Against road law.  Each voter shall be asked
the question, Are y6u for or against road law, and
his vote shall be set down according ; and if it shall appear
on examination of the poll-books that a majority of the
qualified voters voting in said election have voted in favor
of said law, then said law shall be in full force and effect;
otherwise it shall be null and void. All laws coming within
the purview of this act are hereby repealed, and all laws in
conformity with this act shall be in full force and effect.
All laws opening highways, which are not covered by this
act, shall be in full fbrce and effect.

CHAPTER 353.
AN ACT to incorporate the Spencer, Bullitt, and Jefferson County Turnpike
Road Company.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Comnionwealth of
Kentucky:
§ 1. That a company shall be, and is hereby, incorporated
Company for the purpose of constructing a turnpike road from Tay-
formed.    lorsville, Spencer county, Kentucky, to intersect the Bards-
town and Louisville turnpike road at some point between
the Salt river bridge and Roby's toll-gate, at such point as
said company may designate, whose capital stock shall be
Capital stocl, thirty thousand dollars, in shares of fifty dollars each, which
capital stock may be increased by additional subscriptions,
in manner and form as the president and directors of said
company may think proper, if such enlargement shall be
found necessary to fulfill the intent of this act.
§ 2. That books of subscription for the stock of said
Commissioners company shall be opened in Taylorsville and Sh6rtsville, on
to open books. the first Monday in March next, under the superintendence of
Abraham Van Dyke, Moses V. Buckner, and John B. Wool-
