1858.                         CHAPTER 663.
AN ACT to amend chapter 86, of the Revised Statutes.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
R  1. That the slaves, or any interest therein held by an

sold by order of having jurisdiction thereof, in the same manner, and by
Olrcuiour.  the same proceedings regulating the sales of real estate
of infants, prescribed by chaper 86, article 3, of the Re-
vised Statutes.
§ 2. That land or slaves conveyed or devised to any
Lnd orslaves person for life, or in trust for his use, with remainder over
vised V.r life to his children, or to such of them  as may survive him,
may be sold and
proceeds rein- or to the issue of such children, may, by the judgment of
meted.     a Court of Equity not inferior to the Circuit Court, be sold
by the trustee, or a commissioner appointed by such
court, for the purpose of being reinvested according to the
order of such court in other property, in or out of this
state, to be held for the same uses and trusts, and in the
same manner, in all respects, as the property sold was
.held; and the court shall see that the reinvestment is
made; and the price shall remain a charge upon the
property sold, until the purchase money therefor is paid.
But such order of sale shall only be made upon abundant
proof to the court that the sale and reinvestment will be
beneficial to all interested in the property, and upon all
persons having an interest in it being made parties to the
proceedings.
Revised 46t-  § 3. The sixth section of article 2, chapter 43, of Re-
stes,374.   vised Statutes, page 374, so far as the same refers to, and
authorizes sales of negroes by guardians, is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 674.
AN ACT amending article 2, chapter 56, Revised Statutes, title Landlord
and -Tenant.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
That section 14, article 2, chapter 56, title Landlord
Revhedztsl- and Tenant, be and the same is hereby repealed, and in
4 1es .     lieu thereof it is enacted: that a landlord shall have an
exclusive lien on the produce of the farm or premises
rented, on the fixtures, on the household furniture, and
and other personal property of the tenant, or under-ten-
ant, found upon the rented premises, after possession is
taken under the lease; but such lien shall not be for. more
than one year's rent due or to become due, nor for any
rent which has been due for more than four months.
