1856.    the mouth and Hartford, ag specified herein, shall be ap-
propriated *to the navigation of the same between the
aforesaid points, and suit may be brought if necessary for
said purpose.
10. That the act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Rough Creek Navigation and Manufacturing Company,
approved December 2, 1851, be and the same is hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 460.
AN ACT for the benefit of George Early.
WHEREAS, It has been represented and made manifest
to the General Assembly, that George Early is entitled to
be remunerated by this Commonwealth for damages sus-
tained by him in the loss of the steariboat Sophia, in
Lock No. 3,* on Green river, on the 7th, February, 1854:
Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
That the Auditor be and he is herpby directed to issue
his warrant on the Treasurer in' favor of George Early,
for three thousand eight hundred dollars, to be paid out of
any money in the Treasury, not otherwise appropriated;
and that this act take effect'from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 462.
AN ACT for the benefit of the kindred of Louisa Smith.
WHEREAS, Louisa, commonly called Louisa Smith, a
free woman of color, died in the county of Logan, and
State of Kentucky, possessed of' certain estate; and
whereas, her nearest of kin are slaves: Therefbre,
Be'it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commoiwealth
of Kentucky:
That the estate of the said Louisa shall pass to and be
taken and inherited by her nearest, of kin, who may be a
free person or persons. And in determining who said
nearest of free kin may be, relationship may be traced
through slaves.
Approved March 8,1856.
