AN ACT for the benefit of the President of the Board of Internal Improve.
ment.
Be it   a:ted y the General Assenbly of the Commonwealth
of Kcntuckyj:
That the sum of three hundred dollars be paid in ad-
dition to the salary of the President of the Board of In-
ternal Improvement, per annum.
Approved March 8, 1856.
CHAPTER 393.
AN ACT to fix the time of holding the Quarterly Court in Barren county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembbi of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky:
That the Quarterly Court iil Barren c6unty shall com-
mence on Tuesday after the third Monday in March,
June, September, and December, in each year.
Approved March 7, 1656.
CHAPTER 395,
AN ACT for punishing negro stealing.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonuealth
of Kentucki:
That if any person or persons shall hereafter steal, or
Rev. Sat. 634.  aid and abet in the stealing of any negro slave, he or
they shall, upon conviction thereof, be confined in the
penitentiary not less than two years, and may, at the dis-
cretion of ajury, be so confined for life.

CHAPTER 399.
AN ACT to provide for the prosecution of the Geological, Mineralogical,
Chemical, Topographical, and Agricultural Survey of the State.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly f the Commonwealth
of Kentuckyj:
§ I. That the State Geologist be authorized to organize
