1854.                       CHAPTER 914.
AN ACT to incorporate Solomon's Lodge, No. 5, at Shelbyville, in Shelby
county.
1 I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentucky, That the present members of Solomon's
lodge, No. 5, of free and accepted masons, at Shelbyville,
in Shelby county, and their successors be and they are
hereby created a body politic and corporate, by the name
and style of Solomon's Lodge, No. 5, of Free and Accept-
ed Masons, and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion, and capable of contracting and being contracted with,
of suing and being sued, of receiving, purchasing, and
holding all such real and personal estate as may be re-
quired for the use and accommodation of said lodge ; to
receive all necessary conveyances; to sell, convey, and dis-
pose of all such real and personal estate as they may now
have or hereafter acquire: Provided, the amount vested in
real estate, exclusive of buildings thereon, shall at no time
exceed fifteen thousand dollars.
§ 2. James M. Bullock, William 1). Bowland, and Hen-
ry Burnett, are hereby appointed trustees for said lodge,
who shall hold their office until the regular meeting of said
lodge for the month of January, 1855, and until their suc-
cessors be duly elected ; and said lodge may at their regu-
lar January meeting in each year, or as soon thereafter as
practicable, elect three of their own body as trustees,
whose term of office shall be one year from and after said
January meeting, and until their successors are elected.
§ 3. All the real and personal property now belonging
to said lodge, as well as such as may be hereafter acquir-
ed, shall fully and completely vest in the trustees of said
lodge.
§ 4. The trustees of said lodge shall keep a record of
their proceedings, make rules and by-laws for their own
government, and in case of the death or removal of any
of the trustees, the lodge may elect one or more as the case
may be, to fill the vacancy or vacancies created by such
death or removal.
§ 5. The legislature reserves the right to change, amend,
or repeal this charter.

CHAPTER 915.
AN ACT to amend the charter of the town of Carlisle.
§ 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentucky, That the trustees of the town of Car-
lisle shall have power to compel the owners of town lots
in said town to grade and pave a foot walk in front of
their lots, not exceeding twelve feet wide, with good brick
or rock 4pcording to the direction of said trustees, when in
