CHAPTER' 784.
AN ACT to ainead the charter of Germantown, in Mason and Bracken
counties.
1. Be it enacted byt the Gencral Assembly of the Common-  Powers vest.
wealth of Kentucq,, That the act incorporating the town   in 5 trustees
of Germantown, and the several amendments thereto, be
so amended that hereafter the prudential, fiscal, and mu-
nicipal concerns of said town shall be vested in five trus-
tees, who shall be elected annually on the first Saturday  Trustees how
in June, by the free white male inhabitants of said town, elected
who are entitled to vote for state and county officers.
Said trustees, when so elected, shall hold their offices for
the term of one year, or until their successors are elected
and duly qualified. The said trustees, before they enter
upon the duties of their office, shall take an oath before
some judicial officer authorized to administer the same,
that they will faithfully and impartially discharge the du-
ties of trustees to the best of their abilities, during their
continuance in office.
§ 2. That the present trustees, viz: John A. Coburn,    Present tin.

ed or appointed and qualified.
§ 3. That the said trustees elected as provided for in  Trustees to e.
section first of this act, shall, at the first regular meeting lect a chairmna.

their number as chairman, who shall preside at their meet-
ings, and have power to convene the board, when in his
opinion the interest of the town demands it. It shall be
his duty to sign all the by-laws and ordinances passed by
the board, and see that they are faithfully executed.
§ 4. That the said trustees and their successors in office corporate pow
shall be a body politic and corporate, and shall be known era.

tracting and being contracted with, of suing and being
sued, of pleading and being impleaded, of answering and
being answered, of defending and being defended in all
courts and places; and do all acts, matters, and things
which a similar body politic or corporate having perpetual
succession can lawfully and rightfully do.
