CHAPTER 716.                       1854.
AN ACT to incorporate the town of Lockport.
§ 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth  Incorporated
of Kentucky, That the town of Lockport, in the county of boundary.
Henry, be and the same is hereby incorporated, with such
bonndaries, streets, alleys, and other public grounds, as is
exhibited in the plat of' said town, including all the lots
laid off by S. W. Hunt, and such other lots or lands lying
within the limits of said plat, which plat or a copy thereof,
shall be deposited for record in the office of the clerk of the
Henry county court, on or by the first day of May, 1854.
§ 2. That, hereafter, the fiscal, prudential, and municipal  Five trustees

shall be elected, on the first Saturday in March, 1854, and
on the first Saturday in March annually thereafter, by the
free white male citizens over twenty-one years of age,
and who have resided in said town at least three months

enter upon the duties of their office, shall take an oath
before some justice of the peace, that they will faithfully

No person shall be a trustee of said town who is not a
citizen thereof, and who has not been a resident thereof at
least twelve months previous to his election. The said  Shallbeabody

that name, shall be capable in law of contracting and
being contracted with, of suing and being sued, of plead-

things which a town politic and corporate may lawfully
do.

than one dollar on any member for non-attendance, which
shall go to pay the incidental expenses of said board,
