CHAPTER 675.                        1854.
AN ACT for the benefit of Thomas E. Eastin and Thomas G. Bush.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Thomas E. Eastin and Thomas G. Bush,
of Fayette county, be and they are hereby authorized to
sell the slave Charles, recently imported into this state by
them.
Approved March 8, 1854.
CHAPTER 677.
AN ACT to ikcorporate Madisonville Lodge, No. 143, ui Free and Ao-
cepted Masons.
I . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentuccy, That the members of the Madisonville
Lodge, No. 143, of Free and Accepted Masons, in Hopkins
county, be and they are hereby created a body politic and
corporate, by the name and style of Madisonville Lodge, Corporate na
0 and powers.
No. 143, with perpetual succession ; and by that name
shall be capable of contracting and being contracted with,
of suing and being sued, of purchasing and holding all
such real and personal estate as may be required for the
use of said lodge, for their ordinary purposes, and for
the use of a seminary; to receive all necessary conveyan-
ces; to sell, dispose of; and convey all such real and per-
sonal estate as they may have or hereafter acquire : Pro-
vided, the amount vested in such real estate shall not at
any time exceed ten thousand dollars.
§ 2. That the management of the concerns of said corpor-  Who to be

wit: W. J. Smith, J. T. Greenfield, and Sam. Morton,
and their successors in office, as trustees thereof, who,
or a majority of whom, shall have full power to make all
contracts pertaining to the real or personal estate of said
lodge, under their common seal; and service of process or
notice on any of said trustees shall be sufficient notice to
said corporator..
§ 3. That the general assembly shall have the right to
repeal or amend this charter at pleasure, but the repeal
thereof shall not deprive said Madisonville Lodge, No.
143, of the property and effects acquired and held under
this charter. This act to take effect from its passage.
