CHAPTER 529.                        1854.
AN ACT for the benefit of R. 0. Manion of Todd county.
WHEREAS, it is represented to this general assembly that
Reuben 0. Manion, a citizen of Todd county, did, in the
year 1853, purchase and import from the state of Tennes-
see into this state for his own use, two slaves, viz: Flora,
a woman about 45 years of age, and Julia, a daughter of
Flora, about 9 or 10 years of age, and that said Manion
desires to sell said two slaves in the neighborhood of the
husband of said Flora. Therefore,
Be it enactcd by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Reuben 0. Manion be and he is hereby
permitted to sell his two slaves, Flora and Julia, without
incurring the penalties prescribed in article 2d, chapter
xciii, of the Revised Statutes, or any other penalty.

CHAPTER 530.
AN ACT for the benefit of Eliza N. Penick.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Thomas M. Penick and Joel M. Penick,
or either of them, be and they are hereby authorized to
bring into this state from the state of Tennessee, Eliza N.
Penick, the wife of the said Thomas M. Penick, who is a
lunatic in the lunatic asylum at Nashville, and place her
in the western lunatic asylum at Hopkinsville, as soon as
said asylum is ready for the reception of inmates ; and
said Eliza N. Penick is to have all the benefits of said in-
stitution free of charge whatever, for the term of two years
from the time she enters said institution.

CHAPTER 531.
AN ACT to amend the charter of the city of Augusta, in Bracken county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the charter of the city of Augusta be
and the same is hereby so amended as to require every
titheable in said city to pay a county levy to the county of
Bracken as other citizens of said county pay, until the ex-
isting debt of said county is paid off and fully satisfied,
any law to the contrary notwithstanding. This act shall
take effect from its passage.
