This act to take effect from its passage. Approved March 1, 1854. CHAPTER 424. AN ACT to authorize a bridge to be built across Beaver creek, in Floyd county. § 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common- citizens may wealth of Kentucky, That the citizens of Floyd county are build a bridge, hereby authorized to build a bridge across Beaver creek, at or near its mouth, in said county. § 2. That the Floyd county court is hereby authorized to County court appoint a commissioner or commissioners to contract for o ppoint com. and let out the building of said bridge to the lowest bidder, mnissioners to t contract for and to superintend its construction, who shall be paid for same. their services a reasonable compensation, to be paid out To be paid for of the county levy of said county: Provided, that not their services. more than one half the amount necessary to be raised for Expense tobe the construction of said bridge shall be levied upon the paid by a tax to be levied. tithables of said county, and the other half shall be raised by individual subscriptions; and the commissioners afore- said are hereby authorized to receive the same and appro- priate them in payment for the construction of said bridge, which shall be built so as not to obstruct the ordinary nav- igation of said stream.
