CHAPTER 273.                       1852.
AN ACT to incorporate the town of New Haven.
§ 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentucky, That the citizens of the town of New
Haven, in Nelson county, be and are hereby incorporated
and made a body politic and corporate, under the name and
style of the town of New Haven, with fall power to con- Corporate maI.
tract and be contracted with, to sue and be sued, to plead fnleWf*r=
and be impleaded, to answer and be answered, and to do
and perform all such acts and things, either in law or equi-
ty, as bodies politic and corporate, having perpetual suc-
cession, may rightfully do and perform.
§ 2. The limits of said town shall be as follows, to-wit:  Bdnarl.
beginning on the bank of Rolling fork, at the mouth of a
bayou; thence S. 36 W. 16 poles to astake; thence S. 471
W. 61 poles, between Blincoe and Weathers; thence S. 82 E.
43 poles to a corner between Wilkerson and Blincoe; thence
N. 56J E. 92 poles; thence N. 15 E. 12 poles, between
Ford and Fogle; thence N. 80, W. 100 poles, to a corner of
Robert Abel and Robert Ford; thence N. 10 E. 92 poles, to
a stake in William Elliott's line; thence N. .70, W. 36
poles, crossing the turnpike at 18 poles, to a stake in Wil-
liam Elliott's field; thence S. 10 W. 57 poles, to a corner be-
tween Dr. Wilkerson Elliott and the trustees of the Metho-
dist church; thence S. 81 W. 60 poles, to Rolling fork;
thence up said fork to the beginning.
§ 3. That on the first Saturday in March next, and on
the same day in each succeeding year, an election shall Tret t.a1.
be held in said town for the choice of seven trustees to
serve said town for the ensuing twelve months, and until
their successors are duly elected and qualified; and all
resident white male citizens of said town, over the age of
twenty-one years, shall have the right to vote in said elec-
tion ; but no person shall be qualified to act as trustee, who
shall not be a resident of said town, nor until he shall have
taken an oath, before a justice of the peace, faithfully to
perform the duties of the office of trustee of said town.

§ 4. Said trustees may make such rules, regulations, and  May enact tby
by-laws for the government of said town, as they may la,.&c.
deem advisable, provided they are not incompatible with
the constitution and laws of this state, or of the United
States.
§ 5. That said trustees shall have power to open the  Strets.

the benefit of said town as they may deem proper.
