1849.   shall, within sixty days after such importation, make affi-
davit before some Justice of the Peace for Mercer county,
that he has not imported said slave for merchandise, but for
his own use; and that he will not sell said slave in this
State for five years.        Approved February 26, 1849.
CHAPTER 510.
AN ACT'for the benefit of E. S. Steed, of Graves county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of t1w Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That E. S. Steed, of Graves county, be al-
lowed to bring into this State, a boy slave, named Josiah,
without incurring the penalty of any law: Provided, Said
Steed shall, within sixty days after bringing in said slave,
take an oath before some Justice of the Peace for Graves
county, that he bought said slave for his own use, and not
'for speculation or sale; and that he will not sell said slave,
to remain in this State, within five years from the passage
of this act.

CHAPTER 511.
AN ACT to establish an Election Precinct at Dallardsville, in Oldham
county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentuc/cl, That an additional precinct is hereby establish-
ed in Oldham county, bounded as follows, to-wit: begin-
ning on Floyd's fork, at the west end of the farm of John
W. Clayton; thence a direct line to Centerburg; thence to
Luckhart's mill, on Curry's fork; thence up -the same, by
Robert Wasson's; thence to the Henry county line, near
William Spurgin's; thence with- the Henry and Shelby
lines to the beginning; and the place of voting therein
shall be at the house of Charles A. Caplinger, in the town
of Ballardsville; and the Oldham County Court shall ap-
point all necessary officers to conduct elections in said
precinct.
