CHAPTER 504.                         ]e-.
AN ACT for the benefit of Lydia Hindnan, of Barren county.
WHrREAS, Lydia Hindman, of Barren county, has paid
taxes upon a certain tract of land lying in said county, and
on certain slaves in her possession, being the property of
Thomas H. Waters, of Fayette county; and which he has
listed and paid taxes upon in the coupty of Fayette. There-
fore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Second Auditor issue his warrant on
the Treasurer in favor of said Lydia Hindman, for the sum
of nine dollars ninety five cents, to be paid out of any mo-
ney in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

CHAPTER 505.
AN ACT for the benefit of William.Harman, George W. Riddle, and
Clement M. Buckman.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Corn.
monwealth of Kentucky, That it shall be the duty of the  Harman and
Union County Court, at their next Court of Claims, to lay, iddle.
in the levy, a sum not exceeding twenty five dollars, for
the use of William Harman, for conveying Jane Patterson,
an idiot, and Mary Hill, a lunatic, to the Lunatic Asylum;
and, for the use of George W. Riddle, a sum not exceeding
twenty five dollars, for his services in conveying Sarah Mc-
Pherson, a lunatic, to the Lunatic Asylum.
SEC. 2. That the Second Auditor issue his warrant on  Buckmau.
the Treasurer, in favor of Clement M. Buckman, of Union
county, for the sum of one hundred and seventeen dollars,
for money expended in the detection and conviction of a
horse thief, who is now confined in the Penitentiary of this
State, to be paid out of any money in the Treasury not
otherwise appropriated.

CHAPTER 506.
AN ACT to authorize the appointment of a Police Judge in, the towr
of Portland.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of thw Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That it shall be the duty of the Governor, by To be eommis,
and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint sioned by Gov.
a Police Judge for the town of Portland, to remide in 4aid
town, or its vicinity, who shall be commissioned as such
during good behavior; who, before he enters upon the du- T&Vtoat&
ties of his office, shall take an oath before some! Justice of
the Peace to discharge the duties of his office faithfully and
