Ig4g9.  name shall have perpetual succession, with power to re-
ceive all donations and bequests, and apply the same for
the purpose aforesaid, in conformity with the conditions
and designs of the donor; to contract and be contracted
with, sue and be sued, defend and be defended, in all Courts
of competent jurisdiction; to acquire, and hold, and con-
vey, property, real and personal, not exceeding ten thou-
sand dollars in value; to us? a common seal, and shall
have powers and privileges incident to similar institutions.
Sec. 2. That said corporation shall have power to form

AN ACT to reduce into one the several acts concerning the town of
Lagrange.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted b/ the General Assembly of the Com-
Boundary of monwealth of Kentucky, That so much of the county of Old-
town.      ham as is embraced by the calls of the deed, executed on
the 21st day of May, 1827, by William Taylor to James
Head, and others, as Trustees of the town of Lagrange,
and also the lots laid off by Wm. T. Barbour, Sr., on the right
hand side of the road leading from said town eastward-
ly, together with the inhabitants thereof, be and the same
shall hereafter be known as The Town of Lagrange.
SEC. 2. That the present Trustees of said town, and their
Body corpo- successors in office- shall be and are hereby made, consti-
rate.      tuted, and declared, a. body politic and corporate, by the
name and style of the Trustees of Lagrange ; and, by
that name, they may contract and be contracted with, sue
andbe sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and be an-
swered, defend and be defendedi in all courts of this Com-
monwealth, or elsewhere.
SEC. 3. Every election for Trustees of said town shall be

said Justice shall appoint a Clerk for the election; shall in-
vestigate, by oath, and decide upon the qualifications of vo-
