.1849.     Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Hugh W. McNary, agent for the said J.
D. Shaw, of the State of Mississippi, be and he is hereby
authorized to sell the said Harry, to any person or persons
in this State, without the purchaser or purchasers, incurring
the penalties of the law of 1833, prohibiting residents of
this State from purchasing slaves imported into the same.

CHAPTER 241.
AN ACT for the benefit of William and Sarah Compton.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the Gncral Assembly of the Comnon-
May file bill wealth of Kentucky, That it shall be lawful for William and
in Chancery.  Sarah Compton to file their bill in chancery, in the Boyle
Circuit Court, against Speed S. Fry, the Trustee of said
Sarah Compton, and against the children of the said Sarah
Prayerofbill Compton, praying the said Court to render a decree, au-
thorizing and directing -the said Trustee to purchase and
pay for, out of the trust funds in his hands, a negro girl
named Ann, belonging to the estate of John Braxdale, de-
ceased, the father of the said Sarah Compton; and it shall
be lawful for said Court to render such decree, authorizing
and directing said Trustee to purchase, and pay for, said
negro, as aforesaid.: Provided, The said Court shall be of
opinion that it will redound to the interest of the said Sa-
rah Compton and her children.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That any decree rendered in
Decree maybe pursuance of thie foregoing section, authorizing and direct-
mad       ing the Trustee aforesaid to purchase, as aforesaid, the said
negro girl 'Ann, shall authorize and direct said Trustee to
take title to the said negro girl, and her increase, to himself,
as Trustee, aforesaid, for the use and benefit of said Sarah
Compton and her children; and the title to the said negro
girl Ann, and her increase, shall be, and remain in, said
Trustee, for the use of said Sarah Compton, during her life;
and thereafter be, and remain in the children of said Sarah
Compton.

CHAPTER 242.
AN ACT for the benefit of William Cecil.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Second Auditor is directed to issue
his warrant.on the Treasurer for the sum of thirty-seven
dollars and fifty cents, in favor of William Cecil, to be paid
* out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropri-
