CHAPTER 69.
AN ACT for the benefit of W. W. Merritt.
B8 it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealt
of Kentucky, That Win. W. Merritt, of Warren county, is
hereby permitted to import into this State, a negro boy
named Daniel, from the State of Tennessee: Provided,
The said Merritt shall file his affidavit in the Clerk's office
of the Warren County Court, within sixty days from the
importation of said slave, that *he has not imported said
slave for trade or speculation, but for his own use.
SEc. 2. That said Merritt shall not be permitted to sell
said negro, to remain in this State, within five years alter
said importation.

CHAPTER 70.
AN ACT for the benefit of Buford E. Allen, of Fayette county.
Be it eiiacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Buford E. Allen, of the county of Fay-
ette, be permitted to bring into this State, from the State of
Virginia, a slave named Oliver Cromwell, without incur-
ring the penalties of existing laws: Provided, Said Allen
shall file an affidavit in the Clerk's office of the Fayette
County Court, within sixty days after the passage of this
act, that he has not brought said boy into this State for
merchandise, but for his own use; and that he will not sell
him, to remain in this State, for five years after the passage
of this act.

CHAPTER 71.
AN ACT for the benefit of David Stowdun, lawe Sheriff of Oweley
county.
B6 it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That David Snowden, late Sheriff of Owsley
county, be and he is hereby given the further time of one
year to collect his reveauv and county levy, by distress or
suit.
