manner as though she had been born in lawful wedlock.

CHAPTER 44.
AN ACT to change the Bowlinggreen and Adairsville State road.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Warren County Court, a majority of
the Justices of said Court being present, shall have power,
and are hereby authorized, to change the State road, in said
county, leading from Bowlinggreen to Adairsville, as pro-
posed by Thomas McDavitt, of said county, so that said
road shall intersect the road leading from Bowlinggreen to
Russellville, between thirty and forty poles nearer to
Shakertown than the present point of intersection, and
thence to fall into the present Adairsville road, as proposed
by said McDavitt, if, in the opinion of said Court, no injury
will result to individuds.

CHAPTER 45.
AN ACT for the benefit of Jonathan W. Rice, of Logan county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Jonathan W. Rice, of Logan county,
be, and he is hereby authorized to import into this State,
from the State of Tennessee, a negro man named Sawney :
Provided, however, That said Rice file his affidavit in the
Clerk's office of the Logan County Court, within sixty days
from the importation of the said slave, that he has not im-
ported said slave for trade or speculation, but for his own
use.

CHAPTER 46.
AN ACT to authorize T. M. Lillard to bring a negro boy into this
State.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That T. M. Lillard, of the county of Madi-
son, be, and he is hereby authorized to import into this
State, from the State of South Carolina, a slave named
Jim: Provided, however, That said Lillard shall file his af-
fidavit in the Clerk's office of the Madison County Court,
within sixty days from the importation of said slave, that
