1849.    Francis is hereby restored to all the rights and privileges of
an unmarried man.

CHAPTER 41.
AN ACT for the benefit of Win. Sims, of Monroe county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That it shall be lawful for Win. Sims to im-
port into this State a negro man slave, named John, with-
outincurring the penalties of the law of 1833 against the
importation of slaves: Provided, Said Sims shall, within
sixty days after such importation, make affidavit, before
some Justice of the Peace of Monroe county, that he did
not introduce said slave into this State for merchandise,
but for his own use, and that he will not sell said slave
within this State for five years.

CHAPTER 42.
AN ACT for the benefit of Martin Fugate, late Sheriff of Pendleton
county.
Be ii enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, 'That it shall be lawful for Martin Fugate, late
Sheriff of Pendleton county, by himself, the present Sher-
iff, Deputy Sheriff or Sheriffs, or any Constable of said
county, to collect all taxes, county levies and fee bills, or
arrearges of taxes, county levies and fee bills, uncollected
in said county, and due for the years 1837, 1838, 1839, and
1840, in the same manner that taxes, county levies and fee
bills are authorized by law to be collected; and if the said
taxes, county levies and fee bills, or arrearages of taxes,
county levies and fee bills are collected by the present Sher-
iff, or his deputies, or by any Constable, they shall be al-
lowed ten per centum for all collections made. This act
shall continue and be in force from its pasage until the first
day of November, 1850. This act shall only apply to such
fee bills, levies and taxes as are due and coming to Martin
Fugate.
