SEc. 8. That so soon as the said company is organized, the  1847
President, Managers, and other ollicers, shall possess all tile
powers, authority, rights, and privileges, and shall anti may do  Powertsafter

and shall be subject to all the duties, qualifications, restrictions,

anti Lexington Turnpike Road Company; and all the provi-
sions of the act, approved January 22d, IS'27, incorporating
the Maysville and Lexington Turinpiko Road Company, are
hereby enacted as a part hereor, except so far as provided for
in the preceding part of this act, or may come in collision
with the provisions of the same; and, also, so much or the  Charter con-

road being authorized to perform that duty; and, also, ex-
cepting the whole of the27th, 2Sth, and 29th sections of said
act.
SEc. 9. Be it furt/her enacted, That the elevation of the
grade of said road shall he fixed and regulated by the Presi.
dent and Managers thereof.
Sic. 10. Be it further enacted, That there shall be but  No. of gates.

than one mile from the city of Covington.

CIIAPTER 512.
AN ACT for the benefit of A. G. Kyle, of Mercer county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Second Auditor shall issue his warrant
on the Treasurer, in favor of A. G. Kyle, of Mercer county,
for the sum of seven dollars and fifty cents; this sum having
been improperly charged to said Kyle, and paid by him for
taxes of his ward, William H. Taylor, for the year 1845, in
Mercer county.

CHAPTER 514.
AN ACT for the benefit of George W. Ewing and Alexander McGregor.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Com-
monwealth of Kentucky, That George W. Ewing, of Logan
county, be and he is hereby authorized to import into this
State, firom the State of Tennessee, one negro man named
Jeffierson, about thirty five years old, without incurring the
penalties of the act of 1833; Provided, That said Ewing shall,
