1847     for similar services, and who shall execute bond, with good se.
curitv, to said Trustees, in an adequate penalty, conditioned
for the faithful discharge of the duties of his oflice; upon which
bond said Trustees shall have the right to sue on, if violated.
SEc. 3. That the expense of all persons confined in said
jail, where the person confined is unable to pay the same, shall
be defrayed by the said town; and all persons committed to
said jail shall be subject to be released and discharged uccord-
ing to the laws now in force.

CHAPTER 271.
AN ACT for the benefit of the Clerk of the lickmnnn County Court.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That upon the County Court Clerk of Hickman
county producing to the Second Auditor satisfactory evidence
that said Clerk paid ten dollars more than he received for a
clock pedler's license, for the year 1844, that it shall and may
be lawful for said Auditor to allow said Clerk a credit for ten
dollars in the settlement of said Clerk's accounts of taxes, &c.,
received for the year 1847.

CHAPTER 275.
AN ACT for the benefit of IInl Anderson.
WfIURHAS, Hall Anderson, of Garrard county, has brought
into this State two slaves, (Dick and Pink,) and the health of
one of them has become too much impaired to remove him,
consistently with the feelings and principles of humanity.
Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That said Anderson be and he is hereby allow.
ed until the first day of November next, to remove said slaves
from this State, without incurring the penalty imposed by any
law now in force.

AN ACT authorizing the Trustees of Melendree Chapel to sell the same.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the Trustees of MeKendree Chapel, near
Lafayette, in Christian county, or their successors in office, be
