SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That the owners of said dam
shall be and are hereby made responsible for all injury accru-
ing to any boat descending said stream, caused by the erection
of said dam.

CHAPTER 48.
AN ACT for the benefit of Samuel T. Crews,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That Samuel T. Crews, of the State of Missou-
ri, by himself or agent, be permitted to make sale of his slave
John, or Jack, to some person residing in the county of Mad.
ison, in this State, where he will be convenient to his wife and
children, without incurring any of the penalties imposed by
the laws of this State prohibiting the importation of slaves.

CHAPTER 49.
AN ACT for the benefit of George F. Catlet, late Sheriff of Union county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That George F. Catlett, late Sheriff of Union
county, be and he is hereby allowed the further time of two
years to collect the revenue and county levies and fees still
due him.

CHAPTER 50.
AN ACT for the benefit of Robert A. Wright.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That it shall be lawful for Robert A. Wright to
bring into this State a negro girl named Harriet, which he ob-
tained from his father-in-law, who resides in the State of Ten-
nessee: Provided, the said Wright shall, within sixty days af-
ter bringing said girl into this State, make oath before a Jus-
tice of the Peace of the county in which he resides, that he
procured the said girl for his o%- n use and does not intend to
sell her.
