1846.    Superintendent of Instruction,, the Common Schools kept in
the year 1844, in Districts Nos. 3 and 4, in Fayette county,
at any time before the 10th of March next; and upon such
report being made, he shall report the same to the 2d Auditor
for the amount due, who shall issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer for the same, which shall be paid as in other cases.

CHAPTER 55.
AN ACT for the benefit of Jonathan Davis, of Allen county, and Raleigh
Watson, of Morgan county.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Corn-
May import monwealth of Kentucky That Jonathan Davis, of Allen coun-
slaves.     ty, be and he is hereby permitted to bring into this State, a
negro boy slave, named Reuben, about eight years old, with-
out being liable to any fine or penalty for doing so, under the
law prohibiting the importation of slaves into this Common-
wealth: Provided, said Davis shall, within thirty days from
the time of bringing said negro into this State, make affidavit
before some Justice of the Peace of said county, and deliver
the same to the County Court Clerk of said county, that ie
did not bring said slave into this State with a view to sell or
otherwise dispose of the same, but alone for his own use, and
that he will not sell the same in this State.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted. That Raleigh Watson, of
the county of Morgan, be permitted to bring into this State,
a negro woman and child : Provided, he shall, in thirty days,
take the oath prescribed by the first section of this act.

CHAPTER 56.
AN ACT for the benefit of Edward Lewis, late Sheriff of Green county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the delinquent list returned by Edward
Lewis, late Sheriff of Green county, to the July Term, 1845,
of the Green County Court, shall be as valid as if it had been
returned to the June Term previous; and upon the return of
such delinquent list, the Auditor shall settle the same as though
said list had been returned at the June Term of said court,
and issue his warrant on the Treasurer in favor of said She-
rift for the amount thereof; which warrant shall be paid by
the Treasurer out of any money in the Treasury not other-
wise appropriated.
