and their associates and successors, shall be, and they are here-  Corporators
by, constituted a body politic and corporate, to be styled The names: orp-
Irving Library Association of Newport; and by that name
they may sue and be sued, and may have and use a common
seal, and adopt such a constitution, and make such by-laws as
shall be necessary and proper for their government, not incon-
sistent with the constitution and laws of the United States or
of this State.
SEc. 2. That said Library Association shall only have pow-  May estab-
er to establish a Library and reading and lecture room in the lish Library,
town of Newport, and unite therewith such philosophical or &c.
scientific apparatus as they may choose; and for this purpose,
they may hold real estate to the amount of five thousand dol-
lars.
SEc. 3. That this act may be amended or repealed at any
time.

CHAPTER 96.
AN ACT for the divorce of Eliza Jane and Oscar Roberts, and to change the
name of said Eliza Jane, to that of Eliza Jane Chenoweth.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Kentucky, That the marriage contract existing between
Eliza Jane Roberts and Oscar Roberts, be, and the same is
hereby, dissolved, and each of them are hereby restored to all
the rights and privileges of unmarried persons; and the said
Eliza Jane is hereby restored to her maiden name of Eliza
Jane Chenoweth.

CHAPTER 97.
AN ACT for the benefit of Lucy G. Cocke, and her children.
WHEEAS, It is represented to this General Assembly, that
Eliza Julia Fry conveyed to James S. Hopkins, Thomas Bar-
bour, and Lewis W. Green, in trust, for the use and benefit of
Lucy G. Cocke, Eliza Julia Cocke, Lucy G. Cocke, Rebecca
Cocke, and Frances Cocke, a house and lot in the town of Dan-
ville; and, also, a small parcel of ground, about twenty feet
square, on which stands an old stable, of but little value, de-
tached from the house and lot, aforesaid; which small piece of
ground and stable are almost entirely unproductive; and the
said Lucy G. Cocke and said Trustees conceive it to be to her
interest, and the interest of said children, to sell said small
piece of ground and stable, and vest the proceeds in-other pro-
perty, more productive, or place the money at interest for
their use and benefit: therefore,
